You Should visit Kalu Pandey Park At Least Once In Your Lifetime And Here's Why.

It was a memorial day when we (Sanjeev Praja, Sichu Shakya, Mohit Man Bajracharya, and Me) went to visit Kalu Pandey Park, Dahachowk (altitude- 1600 meters above sea level). Actually, we didn't know about the place that well, I heard of Switzerland park situated at Bhimdhunga and we went to visit that place but we reached Kalu Pandey Park, Dahachowk. From there, we felt that we were in the highest of all apart of other hills that were in the south and north.

Towards the south of Dahachowk, there's Chandragiri (altitude-
1650 meters above sea level), from where King Prithivi Narayan Shah while returning from his In-law's house happened to see Malla Kingdom of Kantipur (present day-Kathmandu). He dreamt to be the king of Kantipur because it was a well-civilized and prosperous state.

History stated that- as per Mother Chandraprabhabati's suggestion and citizen's favorite, King Prithivi Narayan Shah appointed Kalu Pandey as Commander-in-Chief of the Gorkhali Army. He maintained a healthy relationship with Lamjung State (old enemy of Gorkha) so that Gorkhali can move ahead towards the eastern direction for the territorial expansion. After conquering a smaller state and Nuwakot as well, they set for Kirtipur where they suffer huge loss and also Kalu Pandey lost his life. As per his wish, he was cremated in Dahachowk, and later it was established as a Kalu Pandey Park.

The scenery of the surrounding was very beautiful and the weather was also sunny but very calm. we relaxed there for a brief period and clicked some pictures and then we descended from there to Naya Naikap.
The following video is a glimpse of returning from park in a cautious manner due to a rough road.
